Week of Languages and Linguistic Activism UAM 22—26 April 2024

The coordinated R&D Project Equiling-Madrid, “Towards a new linguistic citizenship: action-research for the recognition of speakers in the educational sphere of the Community of Madrid,” in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Research Center on Multilingualism, Discourse, and Communication UAM-MIRCo, is organizing the Week of Languages and Linguistic Activism, taking place from April 22nd to April 26th, 2024, at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM). We will have the participation of artists and university students who will share their experiences and reflections on the role of languages in social inequality. Additionally, proposals aimed at addressing and reversing these inequalities will be presented. his initiative is supported by the European projects REDES_Ling and Migrant Voices, as well as by the support of the Institut Ramon LLull, the UNESCO Chair in Education for Social Justice, and the Autonomous University of Madrid (stakeholders of the project).
