Multilingualism, discourse and communication

We wanted this event to contribute to a social critique of capitalism and neoliberal academia. For it to be read as such, we decided to reschedule it, in solidarity with our colleagues who are on strike in British universities, and at the UCL, coorganiser of this event. We thank the 400 registered colleagues form all over the world for their solidarity. The first session will take place on June 9th, 2022, 5-7pm CEST.

This seminar is organized by the Research Center in Multilingualism, Discourse and Communication (MIRCo) at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and UCL Center of Applied Linguistics of University College London Institute of Education. It aims to continue the conversation on neoliberalismo, power and changing conditions of language that Luisa Martín Rojo and Alfonso Del Percio intended to spark with the publication of Language and Neoliberal Governmentality (Routledge, Language, Society and Political Economy, 2019).
